When asked about the New Jersey blimp sightings, U.S. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre replied, "I cannot make any kind of predictions or comments about that," and directed further inquiries to the FBI. However, FBI official Robert W. 'Wes' Wheeler, when asked whether the public was at risk, echoed the uncertainty, admitting, "we just don’t know." This lack of clear answers has fueled concerns among officials and the public alike, raising pressing questions about the government's ability to address these mysterious aerial activities. Pequannock Township's Mayor Ryan Herd questioned, “Are you telling me in the United States of America, someone can start flying drones and we have no idea what’s going on?” New Jersey Assemblyman Brian Bergen voiced his irritation with the lack of information provided at a conference addressing the threat, stating, “Why would [the U.S. Government] call people to tell them we don’t know anything? This is a complete lack of effort.” This growing unease has been further intensified by the Pentagon's admission—one of the few clear answers provided—that these are “not U.S. Military Drones,” as stated by spokesperson Sabrina Singh.
